• Moring visit National Library, Arts & Crafts School, Textile & Folk Heritage Museum. • Afternoon visit to Anim Dratshang (nunnery), Handmade paper factory, Thimphu view point, Handicrafts Emporium and Memorial Chorten.
• Overnight Hotel Phuntsho Pelri / Hotel Wangchuk or similar, Thimphu. |

Day Trip to Punakha or Thimphu / Punakha |

• Morning drive to Dochula pass (3,080m) that heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan. • Afternoon visit to Punakha Dzong, the 17th century fortress which has played important role in building up of modern Bhutan. • Overnight Hotel Zangtho Pelri or similar, Punakha. |

| Day 4 : |
Punakha / Wangduephodrang / Paro (125 km, 5 hours drive) |

• Moring drive to Wangduephodrang, visiting Dzong and local market. • Afternoon drive to Paro en route visiting Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom, which now houses the School for Buddhist studies. • Overnight Hotel Olathang or similar, Paro. |

| Day 5 : |

• Morning visit Drukgyel Dzong (dzong = fortress/monastery), the ruined fortress from where Bhutanese repelled several invasion by Tibetan armies. On a clear day, there is splendid view of Mt. Chomolhari from the approach road to this Dzong.
• Later visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) and then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong, the fortress which has a long and fascinating history.
• Overnight Hotel Olathang or similar, Paro. |
