| The Norkhill is the oldest heritage hotel in Gangtok in the state of Sikkim. Norkhill in Sikkimese means 'House of Jewels'. The King of Sikkim built the Norkhill as a Royal Guesthouse in 1932 to receive and entertain the various Heads of States, Diplomats and other Dignitaries. The hotel walls are adorned with lucky motifs of dragons and flames, thangkas and wall hangings and elaborate bachu and chocsue to give a very ethnic ambiance. |
