Jim Jungle Retreat, Corbett

Along the southern periphery of the Park about 11 Km. from Ramnagar town and just 2 Km. short of Dhela Forest Rest House, is Jim’s Jungle Retreat, surrounded by a reserved forest. Abutting the jungle on two sides are situated 12 huts, unique in their construction. Built with local materials, mainly, they are comfortable, with all modern- conveniences, yet simple, and close to nature in design. The huts have attached modern bathrooms, the rooms are spacious and have air conditioning. There is a private verandah to sit out on to enjoy the sights and sounds of the jungle. Slide shows and wild life films are projected in the thatched dining area before or after dinner. The Retreat also has a swimming pool.

Location
Situated along the wild, southern periphery of CTR, the retreat abuts a reserved forest, bordering the jungle with 12 well-appointed thatched cottages. Constructed to provide the feel of a jungle camp, with large wrap-around verandahs, Raj-style furnishings and modern, spacious bathrooms, the cottages offer understated luxury and privacy.

Some evenings you could even walk out to a surprise Indian Barbeque, hosted in true Shikar camp style. In all, an unforgettable experience for the “First Timer” and a nostalgic journey down memory lane for the “Old Timer”.

Our safari packages, guided by qualified naturalists, include elephant and jeep rides through the very jungles the legendary Corbett roamed. Specially designed nature walks, horseback and mountain-bike safaris enable one to breath the heady oxygen-rich air of the stately sal forests and the grassy ‘chaurs’ while tracking the park’s numerous bird and animal species.
