Chail : Hill State of Himachal, this is where the odyssey begins. The imperial legacy is at its most vivid here, and legends of a colourful pst walk the streets. Scenic hill stations, with their Himalayan magic, beckon to tourists and hoiday makers, walking trails thread through dense woods of Oak, Pine and fire, Steep hill sides yield to picturesque terraced fields. A little trailing a leisurely handful of coaches. Pretty cottages nestle in tranquil sylvan surroundings. And everywhere, there is the presence of the hill people, gentle and cheerful.

Chail has lovely walks and trails that meander through the dense pine forests the home of barking deer, wild boar, pheasant and a variety of birds. For those interested in sports, Chail has fine tennis and squash courts and a putting green. There are excellent sports along the River Gaura with opportunities for anglers to tangle with the Himalayan mahaseer. Chail has also the highest cricket ground in the world 2,250 m above sea level.
