Emerald Isle is the ancestral country house (tharavad) of the Kanjooparambil family, who are local landlords.Located in the backwaters of Alleppey, the house is 150 years old and retains its original architectural features, mostly in teak, with splendid carvings. There is also a fi ne ara, the timber storeroom used formerly to store the rice harvest. |
