Kaina Travel

Kaina is a revered place for Hindus where an idol was carved out from the trunk of a Jackfruit tree and later installed depicting Lord Vishnu (Lord Krishna). The Kaina hill is 914 meters above sea level and at distance of 29 Km from Imphal. The surroundings are serene and peaceful with lush green covering the entire hill.

Regular ceremonial dances (Ras Garba dance) are performed at Kaina. It is interesting to note here that the Manipuri population had embraced Hindu religion (Vaishnav) and were predominantly Hindus until The Christian missionaries invaded the territories and conversion became a norm.
