Ayodhya Travel

The name of Ayodhya evokes such a wide range of emotions in the minds of Indians that it's extremely difficult to gauge and describe them in words. Irrespective of faith or religion, Ayodhya is revered and considered sacred by every Indian. With a mention in the most ancient mythical and historical documents Ayodhya has immortalized itself as the birth place and Kingdom of Lord Ram.

The town situated on the banks of River Sharayu is replete with imposing temples, sprawling ghats, mystic Kunds and evergreen gardens apart from the usual color and fanfare associated with a religious place. Known as Kousaldesa in ancient history Ayodhya also find mention in Korean history wherein a girl from Ayodhya is believed to have traveled in a boat all the way to Korea and marry in the royal family

It is pertinent to mention here that Ayodhya is not only considered sacred by Hindu religion but simultaneously by Buddhism, Jainism and Islam too. In fact the Jain tradition claims that five of its Tirthankars were born at Ayodhya.
