Bangalore Travel Guide

Bangalore was instituted by Kempe Gowda who was a local ruler in the year 1537. The city of Bangalore also known as “the garden city” is the capital of Karnataka state. It is located in the south-eastern part on the Deccan Plateau. The city once acknowledged as pensioner’s paradise for its pleasing climate has become the software industrial hub now.

Kempe Gowda 1 constructed a mud fort and it was founded as the Vijayanagara Empire. At the time of British rule, Bangalore was the center for colonial rule of the South India. Bangalore was governed by the Western Ganges for centuries. The state was seized by the Cholas in 1024 and latter on passed to the Chalukya-Cholas. Then the Hoysala Empire took over Bangalore in 1116 by overthrowing the Cholas.

As Bangalore is at a higher elevation, the topography is healthy and pleasant throughout the year. But during summers, it gets heat waves that make it slightly comfortless. The most coolheaded month is January and the hottest is April. The northeast and southwest monsoons bring rains to the city. Dassehra is state festival and it is a conventional celebration of old kingdom of Mysore.This festival is observed with great dynamism. Deepavali the festival of lights is also celebrated here with great enthusiasm. Other festivals like Eid ul-Fitr. Ugadi, Christmas and Sankranthi are also celebrated here. Bangalore is also abode to the film industry of Kannada. Near about 100 films are produced in a year. The state is also a centre for Indian classical music and dance.
